Prepare for Adventure.

Southeast Expedition Medical (SEM) is a small not-for-profit built by cavers.

Caves are uniquely austere environments, requiring exceptional innovation with minimal resources as compared to many other wilderness areas due to the complete lack of satellite communication.

Cavers rescue cavers. We take care of each other, and SEM fills the gear and medical training gap.

Medical Gear

SEM has developed several med bags tailored to caving. From the Admin Module to our Rapid Response Pack, we provide customized options for cavers.

Either pick up some of our care modules, which are vacuum-packed where needed to reduce the bulk and keep your medical items isolated and clean while in muddy environments, or come visit our re-packing station at an event to dial in your kit.

Wilderness Training

With special emphasis on injuries and illness common in caving, our wilderness medicine courses focus on foundational assessment and treatment skills where emergency assistance may not be readily available.

Wilderness Lifesaver

Custom Classes & Bags

Please contact us to build a custom medical bag/case or tailor a class specific to your group.

Our in-house manufacturing of sewn goods means that we can make any size, shape, or type of bag - compatible with your cave pack, med bag, or even with your vertical gear if you want immediate access to IFAK on rope.
