SOF Tourniquet
The SOF® Tourniquet is a compact, durable tourniquet originally designed for use in tactical and austere environments. It features a compact design, reinforced webbing, and an aluminum windlass and is designed for rapid one-handed or two-handed application.
From TacMed Solutions: The SOF® Tourniquet utilizes a reinforced, low-stretch polyester pressure band that slides easily over an arm or leg. Its detachable buckle allows rapid unhooking and rehooking to facilitate placement in confined spaces or around trapped limbs.
Manufacturer-described features include a patented indicator wedge stitched beneath the windlass to provide a visual indication when slack has been removed, an aircraft-grade aluminum windlass rod with textured grip, and secure windlass retention using the Tri-Ring Lock™ and Tourniquet Retention Assistance Clip™ (TRAC).
